I’m a homesteading, stay-at-home wife and mother who has been creating glass art for 20 years. Stained glass is my first love, but once I learned the techniques of mosaics and glass fusing, I was hooked! I’ve spent countless hours working on glass—during my children’s naptimes, and whenever my wonderful husband gave me the time. Stained glass was my saving grace when I first became a stay-at-home mom; adjusting to less adult interaction was hard for a social butterfly like me, and glass art kept me sane. I have two boys, three years apart, and then, 12 years later, our sweet baby girl came along—a whole new surprise! Unlike her brothers (though my younger son has a creative streak), she’s a crafter through and through. She has a Minnie Mouse desk next to my grinding station, where she works on whatever’s in her craft box, often gluing glass jewels to wood or glass to make gifts for family. Life with kids has slowed me down at times, and I’ve faced challenges, like rejecting my brother’s kidney before receiving one from my precious husband. But once I recovered, creating glass has always been my “Zen.” Now that my oldest has graduated, my other son is 16, and my daughter is 4, I feel ready to turn my passion into a real business after 20 years as a hobbyist, even with many happy paying customers along the way. My life has had its hardships, but it’s also been richly blessed. If you choose one of my glass creations, please know how deeply grateful I am that, out of all the beautiful pieces out there, you picked mine and I am truly humbled. Sincerely, Johnnie
